Woodworm is a potentially serious threat

With timber accounting for as much as 70% of the materials used in the construction of a property, woodworm is potentially a serious threat to the fabric of your home. 

The tell-tale signs of woodworm include small round holes in exposed (unpainted) timber, a fine powdery dust around these holes and crumbly edges to floorboards and joists.

Because exposed timber is at greatest threat, woodworm can also be a particular issue in the roof space of homes.

As with any problem of this nature, it’s important to seek expert help straight away as ignoring it will only make it worse and more expensive to deal with later.
